All scripts are for RPG Maker VX Ace unless specified. The “emerge” text for each troop; Encounter Regions – extended functionality for encounter regions. State Rate Popup – show popup alerts when applying states during battle; Scene. All scripts are for RPG Maker VX Ace unless specified. You may re-post any of the scripts on this blog anywhere, but it is preferred that you link to the actual blog post because I may make changes at anytime. Note that scripts that do not have a blog post (eg: they are posted on a forums) are likely not supported.
Hello, I am a big noob that knows nothing about scripts or even how to add them, I wanted to do a lot of things that may be too complex for me, so now I have a lot of questions.
These are my questions:
How do I add sound to the text? like in Phoenix Wright, Animal Crossing or Undertale, so is like they were talking, but is just a sound.
How can I make text that stays for 2 or 3 seconds and then leaves by itself? like, for example, two characters walking and talking at the same time, the text appears without the player doing anything, and after some seconds it's gone and the next message pops up, you cannot skip it and you have to wait for the text to leave by itself.
3. How can I add sound to steps? and when the player is walking on dirt it sounds like dirt, when you are in water it sounds like water, etc...
I want to learn, but I am awful at this, sorry if some of these questions are too dumb (or too complex)

RPG Maker VX Tutorials and Resources
RPG Maker VX can be sometimes difficult to use for newcomers. This is why I am currently writing a series of articles explaining how to do all sorts of things which might come in handy to both new and experienced users.
You can find all of my articles (for free of course) by clicking on this link.
RPG Maker VX: Text Script
Modern Algebra has conceived a truly wonderful script for RPG Maker VX. Here’s a very limited list of the features of this script:
Features
Here’s a list of some of the features available in this script:
1. Animated facesets
2. Put faces in a window
3. Variable letter by letter speed
4. Set window to all kind of different sizes and positions
5. All sorts of text effects such as bold, italic, shadow, underline, highlight and hex coloring.
6. Graphic Novel Support
7. And a whole lot more…
Now this list is by no means extensive as listing everything the script can actually do would make this article a fair bit too long.
Downloading and Installing the Script (RPG Maker VX: Text Script)
In order to get the script, you can either visit Modern Algebra’s website by clicking here or downloadthe script directly right here at Brighthub.
In order to install the script, simply copy/paste it right here in the script section (press F11 to access the script section):
Using the Script (RPG Maker VX Text Script)
Using this script is really simple. In the actual script, you’ll find all the commands starting at the line #160. All you need to do is to use those commands in your RPG Maker VX.
Here’s a quick example to demonstrate.
Let’s imagine that I want to display the content of a treasure chest. I’ll need to use the i[x] command in order to do so (the “x” is the icon ID you’d like to display in your chest).
So I’ll simply add the command in a normal text input like so:
Note: No matter what kind of function of the script you'd like to use, you'll quickly notice that all you need to do most of the time is to use the or the / followed by a letter or a combination of letter. Once you know this, it's all a matter of remembering which code does what but you can always access this information in the script database.
All we have left to do is to launch the game to see the final result:
Congratulations, you’ve done it!
